Researchers advancing engineering, materials science, and applied technologies

Regents' Professor and Hightower Chair Emeritus
Dr. Zhong Lin Wang received his Ph.D. in Physics from Arizona State University in 1987. He is a pioneer and world leader in nanoscience and nanotechnology, known for pioneering the field of nanogenerators and self-powered sensors, and coining piezotronics and piezo-phototronics for third-generation semiconductors. His research has significantly contributed to harvesting mechanical energy from the environment and biological systems.

David H. Koch (1962) Institute Professor
Robert Langer is an Institute Professor at MIT, holding the highest honor awarded to a faculty member. He is a prolific author with over 1,500 articles and a co-founder of numerous companies, including Moderna. Dr. Langer has received over 220 awards, including the United States National Medal of Science and the United States National Medal of Technology and Innovation.

Director, Machine Intelligence Institute and Professor, Information Systems at Iona College
Ronald R. Yager is the Director of the Machine Intelligence Institute and a Professor of Information Systems at Iona College. He holds a Ph.D. from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and a BEE from City College of New York. He is a Fellow of IEEE, the New York Academy of Sciences, and the International Fuzzy Sets Association.
